Woodly’s Sustainability Director Jonathan Edmunds to Join Circular Economy Panel at BBIA Demeter Awards 2025

We’re proud to share that Jonathan Edmunds, Sustainability Director at Woodly Oy, has been invited to speak at the upcoming BBIA Demeter Awards 2025 in London. Jonathan will join the panel discussion “Circular by Nature: Rethinking the Lifecycle of Bio-Based Products”, which takes place on Monday, November 17th, at the Royal Society of Chemistry in Burlington House, Piccadilly.

“I’m pleased to be joining the BBIA’s panel discussion at the Demeter Awards, where we’ll be exploring the role of bio-based materials in building a more sustainable future. As a BBIA member and advocate of the bio-based plastics sector, I see this as a valuable opportunity to highlight how these materials, especially Woodly® are already commercially scaling and making a measurable impact by reducing fossil content and lowering carbon emissions. With greater scale, we can go even further, accelerating the shift toward a low-carbon, circular economy,” said Edmunds.

The panel will explore the growing need to design bio-based products with circularity in mind –not only focusing on renewable origins but also on what happens after these materials have served their purpose. As the world seeks sustainable alternatives to fossil-based products, the session brings together voices from across industry, research, and policy to examine how we can build more circular systems from the ground up.

Jonathan’s participation reflects Woodly’s ongoing commitment to innovating for a circular future and contributing to global dialogue on sustainable materials.
