Woodly Oy joins the Bio-Based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA)

Woodly Oy is proud to announce its membership in the Bio-Based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA), a key industry platform dedicated to advancing the role of bio-based and biodegradable materials in achieving a sustainable future.

The BBIA plays a vital role in shaping policy and driving systemic change to scale the adoption of renewable materials. By joining the association, Woodly Oy reinforces its commitment to supporting regulatory frameworks that accelerate defossilisation and decarbonisation within the plastics industry.

Woodly’s innovative, wood-cellulose derived polymer demonstrates that renewable, mechanically recyclable materials can deliver both sustainability and high performance. Through this membership, Woodly will actively contribute to policy development that:

  • Promotes the use of renewable feedstocks
  • Incentivises sustainable innovation
  • Supports the transition to a circular economy

“By working alongside the BBIA and its members, we aim to create the conditions necessary for systemic change and to support the transition towards a more climate-resilient future,” said Jonathan Edmunds, Sustainability Director at Woodly.
