Finland’s railway company VR Group Plc. and Woodly Ltd. are pleased to announce a food packaging partnership. VR Group has chosen Woodly’s heat-sealed bags as their new packaging application for food-to-go products on long-distance trains.
Made from unique carbon-neutral and wood-based Woodly® plastic material, the heat-sealed bags are a sustainable form of packaging that will ensure longer product freshness and reduce food waste. VR plans to raise more awareness about sustainable packaging solutions by supporting a Finnish innovation and partnering with Woodly.
Held in Helsinki Finland, the world’s leading start-up event, Slush, provided its guests with recyclable cloakroom tickets made from the unique carbon-neutral and wood-based Woodly® material.

St1’s HelmiSimpukka, in collaboration with Woodly and Amerplast, has launched the Woodly® heat-sealed take away bag.
From onwards of Spring 2022, St1’s HelmiSimpukka restaurant chain will pack their display case sandwiches in a new heat-sealed take away bag that is made from our unique Woodly® material. The heat-sealed bag is 100% carbon-neutral and recyclable wood-based packaging material. Consumers will recognize the new packaging from the Woodly logo and the sandwiches can be found in all St1 HelmiSimpukka outlets in Finland.
Northern European food company HKScan is using Woodly® material to package its popular HK® Maakarit artisan grilled sausages and Kariniemen® grilled sausages.
With the eco-friendly Woodly® component, HKScan reduces the carbon dioxide emissions of the finished packaging film by approximately 50% when compared to conventional traditional plastic packaging.
